Understanding Site Plans
What they are, what they show, and which Site Plan is right for your project.
-
A site plan is a scaled drawing that shows a property, its existing structures, and important site features in relation to the property lines. It is commonly used for building permits, additions, decks, pools, fences, accessory structures, and other property improvements.
-
At The Permit Pencil, we offer three levels of Site Plans based on the amount of information and detail required. Basic Site Plans cover the essential property information, Standard Site Plans add commonly required features for residential and commercial permitting, and Premium Site Plans provide additional detail and customization for more complex projects.
-
All of our Site Plans are prepared using available County GIS data, plot plans, satellite imagery, and information provided by the client. The appropriate plan depends on your project and the requirements of your local building department.
